Phytochemistry, nutritional composition and pharmacological potential of Moringa oleifera: A comprehensive review

Moringa oleifera is a medicinally important plant of the family Moringaceae, which highly valued because its enormous nutritional and therapeutic potential. Each part M. said to contain medicinal properties, contributes diversity value as herb. Literature has revealed that possesses anticancer, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic, antifertility, hepatoprotective, cardiovascular, other pharmacological attributes. Most these biological activities are due high content phytochemicals, including flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, terpenes, glucosides, glucosinolates, anthocyanins, steroids. Aside from plant’s exceptional phytochemicals potentials, it also rich in essential nutrients such vitamins, minerals, proteins, beta-carotene, fiber, fatty acids. This systematic review aims at providing updated categorized scientific data on composition, potentials oleifera. The information compiled this present would be crucial for developing novel medicines pharmaceutical formulations, more effective with great curative actions.
